HOW TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE
Here's a quick outline on how to make money with your own web site. A web site
will typically get about 20 to 40 visitors a day. 100 unique visitors a day is very good. If you have a good
site of interest and promote it well you might get to 100 unique visitors a day in 6 months.
- ADSENSE: Adsense ads on your site will get
clicked on by about 10% of visitors... and you'll make about $0.15 per click... that's 100 site visitors x 10%
x $0.15 = $1.50 per day, or $45.00 per month, from Adsense. Google pays most of the revenue earned
for each ad click to the web site. The value per click varies with the topic of the ads and the ads that Google
shows on your site. Here's a working example of what Google Adsense ads will look like on your
site:
- CLICKBANK AFFILIATE: Affiliate marketing with
Clickbank gets about 0.80% conversion (less than 1%)...that's 100 site
visitors x 0.80% x $20.00 per sale = $16.00 per day (or $480 per month). 10 web sites doing that
would make you 10 x $480 = $4,800 per month... not bad.
- YOUR PRODUCT: Your own eBook as a product
marketed through Clickbank could have hundreds of affiliates promoting your eBook, but you'd have to give them
at least half of each sale. Actually, an affiliate needs at least $20 per sale to make money promoting
your Clickbank product. Let's say your eBook sold for $28. You'd net maybe $8 per sale. Let's say 150
affiliates are promoting your eBook and each makes an average of 4 sales per month... that's 150 x 4 x $8 =
$4,800 per month to you (or $160.00 per day).
That's why you'll see, or hear, the general rule of thumb that states the
value ratio per day between Adsense-Clickbank Affiliate-Your Product is approximately 1/10/100.
Sometimes things do better, and sometimes things flop... that happens too... the outcomes are never rigidly
guaranteed.
The Value of Your List
There's another online marketing business rule of thumb that says each buyer you
add to your list is worth about $1 to $2 per month. Let's say you created a list of 5,000 buyers from your web
site. You could get that in 6 months with good promotion techniques. By promoting to that list you could
expect about $5,000 per month in revenue. How? Say you promoted products to your list three times in the
month... each time with a product that you earn $18 per sale on. Let's say you get 2% conversion on your promotions
to your list... that's 5,000 names x 3 promotions x 2% conversion x $18 = $5,400 That's a little
over $1 earned per name on the list each month. Only one out of 17 of the buyers on your list buys something from
you each month. You're not burning up - or through - your list at that pace.. you see that?
Now, grow your list to 10,000 names and you've got a nice monthly income.
The Value of a Membership Site
Let's say you create a membership site and have a premium content
membership area. Let's say that premium content membership costs $4.95 per month and you have 1,000 premium
members... that's $4.95 x 1,000 = $4,950 per month... not bad. A membership site set-up with a good
premium membership area might be able to do that for you. And all the other revenue sources still work
too, and are additive.
How To Create Your Own eBook
How to create an eBook? Think about the Chicken Soup for the Soul model. Let's
say you have a list of 1,000 folks who like your "Overcome Divorce" site and join your list of subscribers.
You put out a note to them saying you're going to create a book of the best stories of strength and courage and
perseverance from 15 people and each gets their name credited and 1% of the gross proceeds from whatever the book
sales generate. 1% x 15 = 15%... that's your cost for getting a 15 chapter eBook written for you.
You write the Forward and you get the book together. There's you first eBook...
and what if you set-up a clickbank site to sell it... see the story 3 paragraphs up for the numbers.
What if that first book made 400 sales per month for 6 months... that's 400 x 6 x $14 = $33,600... and what
if you were creating book #2 in that 6 month timeframe and launched it at month 6?
What if you wanted to sell your book in hardback. You can do
that... see www.lulu.com
What if the book got popular and you wanted to sell it through Amazon.com... you can
do that too.
All of this is possible. But it takes smart work, some time and a wee bit
of luck... stars aligning and such. Hope this helps you see the possibilities.
